What we will do
Experience: Guests are guided through the process of creating an alabaster artifact. We start with a short historical story about the origins of alabaster craftsmanship, extraction and processing techniques. Then we practice, together we make sketches of paper and clay that we use to create your personal alabaster object.
Meeting point: Via Porta Diana, Casa Osteriaccia
Clothing: Suitable for the experience, not elegant clothes, in fact, allow for a bit of alabaster dust

Who we are: The idea of following the alabaster artisanal path, steeped in tradition and historical memory of Volterra, was born from the meeting of Marco Ricciardi and Lucia Niccolini, and from their need to express their personalities. In 1992 they opened Oasi’s, their studio in the historic center of Volterra, full of experiments and unique creations.
The workshop: located a few minutes from the historic center of Volterra, in a secluded and quiet area. The area is characterized by a strong historical character. A few meters away you will see the Etruscan Porta Diana, some Etruscan tombs and the ongoing archaeological excavations of an imposing Roman amphitheater.
